EVENT: European Services, Software and Grid Technology Days
26 - 27 September 2007 - FP6 Projects Concertation Event
The European Commission, with the support of the BEinGRID and 3S projects, organised a European Services, Software and Grid Technology Days Meeting on 26-27 September 2007, in Brussels at the Diamant Conference Centre.
The key objective of the Meeting was to stimulate cooperation and knowledge exchange between all members of the Framework 6 funded projects from the Software Technologies and Grid Technologies Units which have been brought together under the Service and Software Architectures, Infrastructure and Engineering Unit in Framework 7. Therefore, a key focus of the meeting was on building and growing the existing collaborative activities of all of the projects represented at the meeting and to ensure that the experience and best practice gained by the two former communities was shared and developed as we move forward to Framework 7 together.
Software and services are critical to European product innovation and economic growth. They control vital aspects of our daily lives. The ability to produce software and deliver services in an efficient way is a fundamental capability that Europe should grow. The Meeting will show how, by integrating research activities in the areas of services, software, Grid and virtualisation technologies, this is being achieved.
The event was financially supported by the European Commission through the BEinGRID and NextGRID projects.
